Tattoo Retouching in Metz: How and When to Do It?
26 March 2024
A tattoo is alive. Over time, depending on your skin and sun exposure, it may require touch-ups. Whether you had it done with us in Metz or elsewhere, we explain the process to follow.
Post-healing touch-ups (Follow-up)
At Owink Studio, we systematically offer the first touch-up session if it takes place within 3 months following the completion of the piece.
- Why? Sometimes, during healing, a small area may lose a bit of ink (natural rejection).
- When? You must wait at least 1 month for the skin to be completely reformed before re-inking.
Bringing an old tattoo back to life
If you have a tattoo that is 5, 10 or 20 years old and has become dull, a "refresh" session can work wonders:
- Re-lining: Redefine the outlines if they have become blurry.
- Re-saturation: Restore vibrancy to blacks and colors.
- Modernization: Sometimes, adding a few Fine Line details can transform an old design.
Danger #1: The Sun
Metz may not be the French Riviera, but UV rays are the sworn enemy of your tattoos. To avoid touch-ups that are too frequent, applying SPF 50 sunscreen to your exposed pieces is essential whenever the weather is nice in Moselle.
